2017 Goals

Every new year, I give myself goals & I guess resolutions. .
Every new year, I don't fulfill them, really.

And at the end of every new year, I dread even thinking about goals, but I still try.

Most of these goals, I've already been trying to get a start on, but of course... they're always fitting for the new year!

- Drink more water, less soda. Now, I'm not sure if I could ever completely give it up. Really. But La Croix has been helping to get the bubbly feeling and I'm trying to stick to holidays & cocktails for needing a soda.

- Appreciate exercise. I could write a book about how much I wish I loved working out. Overall, I also want to be more active in general. Especially during the winter months. Minnesota in the winter is magical! As long as you stay off of the highways. haha

- ACTUALLY get the lady balls to start a YouTube channel. I just need the patience and the credit to give myself for working at it and posting things even if they aren't 100% perfect/how I envision it.

- BLOG BETTER. Charge my camera, use lighting or actually work to get my photos to the quality I know I can deliver. Also blog more often. I have so much to say, so much makeup to play with and no one to talk to about it in my real life.

- SPEND LESS or go on a low buy. I've been trying to low buy but of course, all of the holiday sets or new releases came out and then Sephora sends out a $25 off of $50 [I think that's what it was], so I couldn't pass that up. But really, spend less. Which leads me to....

- MOAR EMPTIES! Use up what I have and love! I'm a sucker for new new new or switching things up when I get bored. More pan! More empties!

- Be more adventurous with lipstick! I own so many cool bold colors, but I'm so timid when it comes to picking out a lipstick for the day. I also love doing eye makeup in crazy colors but maybe it's time for my lips to do the talking!

So far, I think that's about it for goals. These are definitely doable and I'm excited to revisit these at the end of 2017. I'm just ready for 2016 to be over. hahaha

What are some of your goals for the upcoming new year? Or just for the near future if you don't do resolutions?

November 2016 Empties

Heyo it's me, still bad at blogging!

I just had an insanely long, difficult but fun weekend having Sean's side's Christmas! I loved having it this early in the month and for a weekend. We had an ugly sweater party, Christmas party & a baby shower all in 3 days. It was full of people, but I feel good about it all. I miss my niece & nephew already. My other nephew couldn't make it as he is battling leukemia, but his brother got to come up so it was nice to hang out with him and take him sledding.

Anywho, on to my trash! Again, had to use my iphone for these photos, so ignore that.

First off, I'm really bummed to be tossing this La Vanilla Healthy Deodorant in the Sport version. This smells amazing and I've always loved this brand for deodorants, but I started to notice that this would really irritate my pits. I would have to alternate days & other deodorants but I'm getting to this point where I'm like, if this irritates my skin & isn't blowing my mind, why keep it? So, bye! Secondly, this Peter Thomas Roth Strawberry Scrub is amazing. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. I ran through this so fast, because I love scrubs. IT'S SO GOOD. SO EXPENSIVE THOUGH WHYYYYY. I loved this Fortune Cookie Soap Polyjuice Potion Body Wash. My absolute favorite scent from them! I'm giving away this sample of the Elizabeth and James Nirvana Rose Perfume. I tried to wear it one day because I thought it was nice, but it's one of those perfumes that does NOT smell good with my body chemistry. So glad I got the sample rather than blind buy, which I do all the time. It just sucks because the full size bottle of this is SO GORGEOUS. Feel free to send me your empty one. hahaha
I used up this L'Oreal Ever Pure Repair & Defend Shampoo. I really liked it, it was so nice and gentle with my colored hair. I did not like this Matrix So Silver Shampoo. I probably don't truly need a purple shampoo until my color is really faded, but this was nice and vivid purple, but it irritated my scalp hardcore. I used up my Overtone Vibrant Purple Weekly Treatment. I still don't use this weekly or I'd be using 2 jars a month, but I used it before our last Vikings home game and it turned out pretty good. Going to go for the next level of intensity next time.
Not much in the makeup department, and not really even skincare! This is my second Clinique Smart Repair Serum I've used. I do like this stuff. I keep trying to find something I like better, but so far nothing has compared to this. I used a sample of Erno Laszlo Eye Refiner that I received along with my cleansing kit from Influenster. This was a pretty nice eye cream! I'm not sure how much the full size is, but if it's not too bad, I might pick it up. I'm sad that my Smashbox Primer Water is gone! I loved this stuff and once I use up a few more primers, I'd like to repurchase this.
OOH Autumn is like one of my top favorite B&BW scents.  This candle was amazing. And the Boo candle was great as well but didn't burn down as far as I had hoped.... especially for the money. When the fall scents came out, I ordered this pack of all of the hand soaps in those scents and I really loved this Autumn Spiced Strawberry Deep Cleansing Hand Soap. It wasn't too fruity & sickly sweet like you'd expect. It was really fucking nice! Also used up another favorite scent in a Wallflower, Sweater Weather. And lastly, this sad ass Glade Candle. I don't even remember what scent it was. It burned fucking awful.
Randoms time. These Up & Up Cotton Rounds were nice. I usually always buy the 3 pack of them. Lots of bath bombs! From Witch Baby Soap I used Blood & Milk which smells amazing, Psychic which also smells great, and the Mourning Moon one during the full moon in November. I adore the moon bath bombs that come in the Spell Boxes each quarter. Finally, I used the Boo Bath Melt from Lush! I loved it.

Quick Lifestyle Update

Well, I wish I had better news about my whole I'm gonna lose weight! shit, but I don't.

I did lose about 3 pounds so far, but I am attributing that to stress more than anything.

I have been using a food service, much like Blue Apron, but this one is a Minnesota company that uses local ingredients. Plus I think their recipes are more my style. I've been LOVING every recipe I've gotten. Even the ones I wasn't that crazy about have been fixable. It's getting me to love cooking again and I've been keeping my favorite recipes to remake in the future.

I also have been feeling a lot better lately because I am finally getting some answers to my breathing issues. I'm on an inhaled medication that I take once in the morning and at night. I've barely even used my rescue inhaler since I've started this. Now, I can work out and only feel a little like dying [like normal] rather than actually feeling like my airway is for real closing.

So overall, I feel like I'm in this weird life is sucking but also going better at the same time?
Seems like such is life.

October 2016 Empties [okay, a little November too]

Hey buddies!

I was going to post these a couple weeks ago but never got around to it but then I figured I would anyways, even if it's a bit of November empties.

But anyways, WHERE THE FUCK HAS THE YEAR GONE?! Ugh.

Also, when I came back from Chicago, I found that both of my camera batteries had died. So I just used my phone for these photos, because I could not stand to have this trash in my life any longer. HA

My favorite Lavender Epsom Salt Soak from Dr. Teal's; the scent isn't too heavy and goes good with most other bath products. I love mixing & matching. 3 bath bombs from Witch Baby Soap! The Hunter's Moon was AMAZING and I am SO fucking pumped they're bringing it back for Black Friday I believe. Fairy Cake was super fun & sparkly! And the Hallowmas was amazing as well. Great fall scent, cute Jack O Lantern mold! Also from Witch Baby Soap was the Cafeomancy Body Scrub. It was a nice coffee scrub but made for a messy tub! haha but for real, Witch Baby Soap has quickly become one of my favorite companies to buy body care from! Lastly, this isn't technically used up but a little bit of it is left in the shower. It's the Blizzard bar soap from Blue Heron Soap Co., my mom and I buy from this brand every year at the Minnesota State Fair. Awesome soap company.

Used up a Bath & Body Works Wallflower in Leaves [my favorite] and a candle in Pumpkin Woods. That candle smelled amazing! OOOOH and rare husband empty: Ralph Lauren Polo Red Cologne. We both really love this scent so anytime I can get a sample size, I will.

Another Overtone Conditioner in Vibrant Purple. I've switched to the Extreme Purple and I've been liking that one better. Another conditioner was the L'Oreal Ever Pure Repair & Defend Conditioner. I love this stuff!

I tried a sample of the Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Facial Toning Mist. First off, what a tiny sample for something that's SO hyped up. And then the spritzer sucked balls and went everywhere but my face! haha, but anyways, I didn't see any difference, but I'd try it again. I used a sample of the Tarte Deep Dive Cleansing Gel. It was okay! Happy to get and use a sample of it. I'd take my other samples traveling with me.

I went through a Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant. I do like this stuff and use it religiously day and night. I'm trying a different variation of this now to see if I like it more, but I'm wondering if I want something stronger? Different? I'm not sure yet but I really do love the Paula's Choice products lately. Also used the Tea Tree Water Toner Water from Lush. I love this stuff and I like switching between this and my Rodan & Fields Unblemish Toner. Finally used up this Origins No Puffery Eye Gel. It was nice but I'd try something new.

OOOH MAKEUP. Ok, so I used the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer, I liked it but I had to use a brush to work it into my skin rather than use my fingers. Would use up other samples of it, not sure I'd buy the full size. I know this isn't technically makeup but nail stuff but I didn't know where else to put it. I used a sample size of the Formula X Shine Top Coat. I love this top coat and emptied the hard to get stuff into my full size. I used up my favorite Urban Decay Eyeliner of all time in Rockstar. Best plummy purple ever! It always feels so great to use up a foundation! I used the L'Oreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation [in whatever the lightest shade is]. I'd buy it again after I use up a couple more!

I HATE THIS NARS AUDACIOUS MASCARA. I tried using primers and what not but I just couldn't do it anymore. I even would use disposable wands with it but that's not the point of buying a ridiculously expensive shitty mascara. I do, however, love the Dior Diorshow Mascara and Too Faced Better Than Sex. I'm impressed with myself for using up a whole Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light. I'm trying a different shade of this now but I'd definitely buy this again. I LOVE IT for setting my undereye.

Alright, lastly, weird random shit!
Used up some Ulta Dual Tipped Cotton Applicators. These are awesome to have around! I love all shapes of q-tips. You never know when you'll need em! Also Ulta Exfoliating Cotton Rounds, hated them. Wet Wipes, my favorite for cleaning up around the sink. This Method Hand Soap in Juicy Pear that we had in the kitchen. It smelled nice, like Pear Jelly Bellys, but I wouldn't repurchase. And Equaline Cotton Ovals. They were okay in a pinch!

What have you used up? Anything that makes you feel accomplished?

EOTD - My Pretty Zombie 'The Vapors' & 'Old Bruise'

Hey guys! Do you ever just get the feeling to use weird colors or go grab a few neglected singles [or unopened!] to use for the day? I had that feeling.

I decided to pick out a couple of My Pretty Zombie eyeshadows I haven't used yet and thought that the matte yellow Old Bruise and beautiful burgundy/red/blue shifting The Vapors would be a fun challenge. Initially, I wanted to use a lot more of Old Bruise but I shied away and stuck to what I was comfortable with. I do like this combination of colors though! I will definitely use them together again.

I also wanted to use my Tarte Tarteist Clay Liner in Navy instead of black. I think this made the look really cool as well. It's almost like using primary colors.

Also I had to throw my cute little Paw Palette in the photo too! I've been LOVING this tiny size with a ring on the back. I stick it on my thumb while I use my brow pomade and gel liner and it's so easy then to hold a mirror up as well. Great tiny work space. I do have a normal [like, original] palette with the wrist band for larger amounts of product but I just don't use it that much so it's in my Halloween/costume kit.

So yes, Coffin Mini Palette, KVD [don't judge me on how old this liner is, still works great] Autograph Liner in Fool's Gold, MPZ Old Bruise & The Vapors, Tarteist Navy Liner, KVD Thunderstruck [my baby].

 Ugh, how pretty!

Natural Light.

 Flash.
I took this mostly so you can see the shift in The Vapors. Natural light.

October 2016 Favorites

Wow how is it already November?

First off, you'll have to excuse my poor ass photos; this is what happens when I get an idea for a post, get too lazy to drag out my tripod and lighting and shoot late in the day, very very quickly.

I've actually been up at my husband's cabin for about a week now. Usually I would have hated to miss Halloween festivities but I have been battling a respiratory type of sickness for a month now, so since I wasn't feeling great, we headed up north.

Cell reception and wifi have been a bit hard to come by, but I've been making it work and somewhat enjoying the quiet. I finished a book and am about to start a new one.

Anywho, these are the products I've been loving lately. I had a great show of all of these products open, but it was just too out of focus/blurry to post. So sorry!

First is the Kat Von D Metal Matte Palette. IT'S SO GOOD. Much better, in my opinion, than the Serpentina Palette. Also from KVD is the Limited Edition Studded Kiss Lipstick in Mother. I love the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick version as well but I cant resist the LE packaging. The Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Rose Quartz. So pretty and just fine on my fair skin! This Chanel Eyeliner in Eros is amazing. I love red eye products. If I can ever find this anywhere [it's so hard to track down] I'm going to repurchase. So creamy, so red, makes my eyes pop. LOVE IT. And finally, Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Corrector in Pink. It's nice and brightening for me; most days I don't need to mix it with another concealer.
Chanel liner, KVD lipstick, Becca Rose Quartz, natural light

Chanel liner, KVD lipstick, Becca Rose Quartz, flash

I did have swatches of my favorite shadows from the Metal Matte palette, but they were also super shaky, so I think I may do a separate post for my favorite shades.

What did you love for the month of October? =]

September 2016 Empties!

A tad late in the month but here we go!

I used up 2 Bath & Body Works Wallflowers, both I'm sure are in the Golden Peach Sparkle. I love peach scents. [I have 2 bathrooms so that's why I can use up 2 at a time] Also The Sparkling Pear Riesling [YUM] and the Happy Halloween [hello packaging] candles!

My favorite dry shampoo ever. Elizabeth + James Nirvana White Dry Shampoo. Expensive yes but only used when I need extra cute hair. Love it. Forever Repurchase! I LOVED this Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream for hair that I got in a Birchbox I believe. I may pick up the full size once I get through more hair stuff. Another favorite is this Macadamia Nourishing Moisture Masque. Love it. The tub lasts me forever.

Two Witch Baby Soap Bath Bombs... I used the Charity one which smells good and some of the proceeds go towards a charity close to the shop owner. And also the Harvest Moon Bath Bomb. I didn't get to use it on the actual full moon [which I like to use the Moon themed ones on] but it smelled so good. AND THEIR MERMAID BODY SCRUB. I am obsessed with this scrub. It smelled like..... not quite tropical but still beachy. What I think of when I think about the beaches out West as you head further north... And the Origins Clear Improvement Body Wash. This is a body wash with charcoal in it. It smelled very spa like and I definitely want to repurchase it. I wouldn't say it totally cleared my body acne, but I feel like it helped clarify my shoulders, chest and back.

Holy skincare Batman! I love the Urban Decay B6 Prep Spray. I do have one more bottle in my stash but I think I'm going to hold off on repurchasing for a while... A Nugg Face Mask, which I think was Shea Butter and Chamomile. It was okay. A basic Face Moisturizer sample from Fortune Cookie Soap, which wasn't my favorite but I used it at night and it was okay. Philosophy's Microdelivery Peel. I love this two step exfoliating kit. I use it when I REALLY need some serious face scrub time. My favorite Glam Glow Mask. A deluxe sized sample of the L'Occitane Cleansing Oil. This stuff was really nice! I'd think about buying the full size.
A sample of Chanel Makeup Remover. It was nice, but I'm not a huge fan of the dual phase type of removers that you have to shake, but it was nice to try. The Green Tea Face Mask from Sephora Brand. One of my favorite sheet masks! A sample of Origins Original Skin Mask. It was like a clay mask that wasn't super clay.....ish? It was cool and I'd try another sample or if I found it on sale, I'd buy it. And finally Clinique's Take the Day Off Make Up Remover Wipes. They weren't the greatest but not the worst. I mostly kept them in my overnight bag for when I would crash at my mom's or a friend's place... or if I was just a lazy POS and didn't want to wash my face at night.

Q-tips which is everyones must have. Equaline Regular Nail Polish Remover. I bought this when we moved into our apartment because I didn't have any with me and I was dying to do my nails. This stuff wasn't the best but whatever. A travel size Colgate Enamel Health Toothpaste. I usually just get this for traveling and once it gets low I just use it up at home. And these Premium Cotton Ovals. Pretty okay. Would repurchase if needed.

Finally makeup! I used up all of the samples of the Urban Decay Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluids. I liked the Pink [which I bought], Green [want to buy] and I would try the Lavender and Yellow again. Peach was a bit too dark which is okay but I still tried it. Lunatick Cosmetic Labs Mystifying Mattifying Pressed Powder. This powder fucking rocks. I went through it a bit fast but I will repurchase once I get through a few more powder products. Speaking of, I used up this tub of It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Loose Powder. I loved this stuff as well! I'm trying the pressed version right now but we'll see which I like better in the end. Last but definitely not least is the Jay Manuel Beauty [do y'all remember him from ANTM?! I fucking loved him. My silver haired fox.] The Everything Mascara. This mascara fucking rocked. You can twist the end of the handle and change the length of the brush; shorter for volume, longer for length. IT'S AWESOME.

Hard to believe that soon I'll have to put up October empties!

As Minnesotans say... Uffda.

So, this isn't really a makeup related post, but more so lifestyle.

I've been feeling really down lately about my outward appearance and now health for a while. I've struggled to stay feeling confident in myself, even though that is the type of woman I want to be.

There have been MANY times I've vowed to change only to fail soon after. But any other time I've done this I've never been so vocal about it online.

SO.

Maybe this will help me stay accountable. I'm not going to write what my current weight is. But I will stay updated on whether I've lost, gained or stayed the same.

Today I woke up before my alarm went off and since I couldn't fall back asleep, I got up and watched a couple YouTube videos, the news and part of The Price is Right because it's the best show ever.

Strangely, I felt the desire to hit up the gym. I also have been in the mood to start a new book because I haven't read in forever. Lately, it seems like I've had a hard time just sitting down to read because I'd rather catch up on blogging or YouTube.... so getting my ass on the elliptical seemed like a great way to start a book.

Being the good wife I am, I woke up my husband and asked if he'd like to join me. He said no, which is fine. I don't mind being in the gym alone; since it's right next to our apartment, I just bopped on over.

45 minutes and a decent dent in my new book and I feel great. I just got out of the shower and feel super ready to kick today's ass.

Gonna make a quick brunch and tackle some chores!

I hope you all [whoever and wherever you are] have a great day today!

Urban Decay Alice Through the Looking Glass Eye Look

Hi friends!

Just posting a look I did a while ago. I had this idea to do a deep navy eye with a plummy/burgundy mascara. In my mind, this would look amazing and edgy, but in reality, it failed a bit and just looked like any normal look.

I'll probably try it again and try to make the mascara brighter! Probably a white liner or white lash primer.

This was done using the Urban Decay Alice Through the Looking Glass eyeshadow palette. I wasn't very impressed with this palette in the beginning, unsure why I even bought it. However, I've been playing more with it and learning to love it!

The mascara I used was the MAC Zoom Lash in Beets Me. It's really a gorgeous color! Clinique also does a great one that I may try next time.

And yay for more glittery fallout! My inner corner highlight is my main B Kat Von D Thunderstruck.

MAC Eye Look - Teal/Green

Here's just a random eye look that I liked one day.

This was done using Teal Appeal and Shock Factor from MAC. These shadows were okay, I definitely needed a sticky base. Teal Appeal was a lot better than Shock Factor.

I also used my Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper - my main bitch.

I believe the inner corner is one of the loose duo chromes from Make Up Geek. Sugar Rush, I think? Or it could have been a Make Up For Ever pigment but ya know, whatever. Sugarpill's Lumi would be the best one for this though! But it's still in storage.

Also, I think I used Urban Decay's Mars Eyeliner on the bottom lash line. Anastasia Darkside Waterproof Eye Pencil to tightline.

I have to laugh, the picture using flash just goes to show how hairy my brows actually are, even though I am convinced my brow hairs are invisible. Plus glittery fallout! Which I don't mind, personally.

July/August 2016 Empties!

Holy late post, but I wanted to get this up before the end of September ;]

I don't think I'll go as in depth with these empties as I like to, just skim over what's worth it or what sucked.

Lots of masks! The Avocado Sheet Mask from Sephora is AMAZING. That sample of Dior Dream Skin? Awful. That Tatcha sample of the Balanced Pore Perfecting Water Gel was insanely good. I got a few uses out of the sample but after the first use, I ordered a bottle of it right away. That Jack Black Sun Guard is hands down the best sunscreen I've ever used and I've only been able to find it online! Already ordered another bottle. It lasted forever, like, a weekend in Vegas passed around between me, Sean and my cousin. Smells amazing, doesn't feel greasy as shit, SO GOOD. GO GET SOME. Also, The Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water convinced me that Bioderma is my shit, followed by Simple. This one just burned my eyeballs.

Loved that little sample of Buttercup Shampoo from Fortune Cookie Soap. Love my Overtone Vibrant Purple Conditioner. Not a fan of the Joico hair care.... Trying to use up the rest of what I have. Also I got those L'Oreal Extraordinary Oil Shampoo & Conditioner from an Influenster. I don't know that I'll buy these but they were actually really nice!

That Method Rebecca Atwood Hand Soap in Herb Garden was nice, smelled a little like basil & weed, but it was alright. The Shiseido Facial Cottons are amazing. Dial Soap from when I got a new tattoo! Pure Seduction perfume from Victoria's Secret. Not my favorite but a good, safe fragrance for me. And Systane Eye Drops. Unsure why I put them in my empties but hey, they're great.

Lots of candles! Definitely was getting in the Fall mood early. Bath & Body Works will forever get my moneys with peach scents, like Georgia Peach & the Golden Peach Sparkle Wallflower. Obviously I love Pumpkin Apple & Pumpkin Fireside [SO GOOD]. Vampire Blood was a nice scent, cute packaging! Voluspa Saijo Persimmon is my favorite scent ever, which I can NEVER find except for online, but it smells 100% exactly like the Volcano candles Anthropologie sells. So I will never run out. The Voluspa ones burn better than Volcano in my opinion though. And up at the top there is a candle in the scent Black Flame Candle from Macabre Scents on Etsy! IT SMELLED SO GOOD. I want to order more of them.

More Fortune Cookie Soap products! Polyjuice Potion is my favorite scent of theirs, so I used up a Sugar Scrub. They had a Finding Nemo themed box and the Jelly Man Jelly Soap was so fun, smelled almost like Polyjuice Potion [fruity, a little tropical] and the color of the jelly was SO cool! A couple of Witch Baby Soap Bath Bombs that correspond with the full moons. Don't Rain On My Parade Shower Gel from Lush was nice. Blueberry & violet in scent, but I did get a little sick of it toward the end. And a wonderful Blue Cornmeal & Sea Salt Body Scrub from Growing Blue Flowers. One of the best body scrubs I've ever used! It's nice because it's super scrubby, unscented so you can customize it if you want oils or anything and I felt like it lasted a long time because it's not a wet scrub. It's dry and I would mix it with body wash or body oil. Also this company is a local one so I love supporting the woman that runs it and creates these products! [Her natural Bug Repellent Spray is amazing.]

Was definitely impressed with the makeup I used up lately. Obviously I loved the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. I scraped that bottle for sure! I used Shade 2. The Wet n Wild Setting Spray is actually amazing. And for that price? Hell yeah. That sample of the Hourglass Ambient Primer in Mood Light was nice! I may buy a full size. Maybelline Lash Sensational is one of my favorite mascaras ever. Finally used up my Dior Lash Maximizer, loved it. Also was super impressed with this Boscia White Charcoal Mattifying Makeup Setting Spray. Smelled awesome, felt great, will repurchase. Super pissed off at that MAC Eyeliner.... it dried up and was so hard to use, so I'm just getting rid of it [aka hoarding it incase I can Back 2 MAC it, anyone know?]

Anywho, what did you use up lately?
I'll be back with my September empties in no time. ;]

No. 100 - Kat Von D Serpentina Palette Look

Cheers to 100 posts and to a new post in general!

Again - I suck at uploading.

I went on a no buy but my exceptions are always Kat Von D products [cheating, I know, but I need her products] so I squealed when I saw this palette on Instagram.

I ordered it and am still a little iffy on it but so far two shades have been used more than the others. Queen and Hieroglyph are gorgeous as hell and so this look is showcasing them. Mostly Hieroglyph but I chucked Queen on the outer corner for some dimension. Also used Thunderstruck in the inner corner and on my brow bone, which I use almost everyday.

This is a pretty KVD heavy face as well. I used my favorites also so the product list is this:

The Serpentina Palette
Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Bow N Arrow
Shade & Light Blush in Piaf & Poe [I know these got pulled but I LOVE MINE]
Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Thunderstruck [mine is shattered, still works amazingly well]
Tattoo Liner in Trooper [my LE packaging one is still going strong]
Lightning Liner in Ludwig

Natural Light

Flash
And for the whole look, although I realize you can't see the blush well.

My Moving Makeup Essentials

Hello there - I just thought I'd make up a quick post about my favorite products that got me through basically our first month here at the apartment after moving.

Now, yes, I have been here for almost 2 months now, but most of my makeup is still in storage or hardly used because of the craziness that was graduation.

I do have products added to my everyday clutter, but this is the barebones of it all, minus primers.

Because I forgot them.

Let's start with the face! Oh and please excuse my awful swatches. All done in natural light.

First off, I had been living off of these Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancers.... basically, concealer on crack. I could use these as eyelid primers and concealer. I have SX02 and SX03. So, winter and summer shades. HA. I love these as they are going to probably outlive me and there's something in the ingredients that dries up my blemishes fairly fast.

Next are my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light. I use this to set my under eye area and brighten what needs it. Along with my Ambient Lighting Palette, where I use Dim Light as a sort of bronzer [no joke - THAT pale.] and Incandescent Light which is a great subtle highlighter, brow bone highlight and inner corner highlight. I don't even touch the darkest shade, which I will probably pass along to my beautiful [and darker toned] bestie as I can see this would be amazingly gorgeous on her.

I've been loving the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation. Not too matte, but not luminous, I'm in shade 02 Fair. I'd definitely repurchase once I run out. Honestly, this is even a little too light for me now that summer is here, which is a huge shocker as I'm usually the lightest shade in every range. I like to set it with the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Powder.

OOOh and then we have my Shiro Cosmetics Cheekbones Contouring Powder in Burn the Heart Out of You. IT'S SO PRETTY. I know loose powders can be a little bitch at times, but I love working this powder into the cap and softly carving out my cheeks. Most days, I can just get away with this as a blush as well since it's so rosy toned.

I got this Frat Boy blush from The Balm a while ago in a Birch Box I believe, and holy shit it's still going strong. I wear it nearly everyday and still no pan. It's a gorgeous color though that would look good on anyone.

Now for lips and brows!
These lipsticks were impulse buys and they're alright. Maybelline Sensational Lipstick in 705 Blushing Bud, 655 Daringly Nude, 235 Warm Me Up. I usually just like to mix two or even all 3 together to create a custom shade that's easy to wear and wears off well.

And a new product for me because my ABH Brow Wiz bit the dust right after move in, and right after I successfully finished both brows[!!!], is the NYX Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe. Very much comparable and a decent color. And my trusty ol' Urban Decay Brow Tamer in Clear.

Wee! Eyes, my favorite.

This Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Mascara is insane. So good. Like Better Than Sex good. Also I had picked up these MAC Modern Twist Kajal Liners in Squid and Black Walnut. Very nice and surprisingly I think I like Black Walnut  more than Squid, which is super duper black.

Also my faves from Kat Von D, her Shade & Light Eye Palette, Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Thunderstruck [which broke again, but I'm just using it as is now.... working fine!] and my ride or die Tattoo Liner in Trooper. In the LE packaging. Thunderstruck is the best inner eye highlight ever.

So that was it, that's what kept me decent looking during the move. =]
