Bulu Box May '14

I can't remember where I saw it, but I have joined another subscription box service.

I signed up for 3 months of Bulu Box, also choosing the weight loss option.

May was my first month and I was pretty impressed.

First up, was a sample of these chocolate mint soft chews which are supposed to help with skin, hair and nails. Now, I already take these amazingly yummy hair skin and nail gummies, but I was interested in a chocolate version. These did not have a very pleasurable taste or texture.. sad to say. I ate it as fast as I could.

These are herbal allergy pills, which I admittedly took with my regular Claritin because my allergies are super severe right now.. it's pretty awful. Can't win this year with Minnesotan weather! So... when I opened one packet, one of the capsules was broken and so the powder was all over, but one was intact so I took it. The next day, I opened the other one with the same result.

If I would have known one was broken in each, I would have just taken both perfect capsules on the same day. I don't know if it was a placebo effect or what, but I did feel a slight difference in how my allergies affected me. My sinuses weren't as horrible feeling as usual, but I'm not sure if I'd want to buy a full size jar of these... I'd definitely be worried that some of the capsules would be broken.

More gummies! Okay, so I think it was kinda funny they gave me gummy vitamins for adults and kids. I did not like the taste or texture of the adult ones... they were like those candies, Dots, but with a harder exterior. I don't really like the taste of orange [unless it's from a real orange] nor do I like Dots. The kiddo gummies weren't AS bad, even though they had the same flavor, but these had a textured coating like gumdrops or sour patch kids minus the sour. Now, I'm not sure how well these 'worked' but I do like to try to be regular with a general supplement so it's always nice to have something new to try.

Next up was a protein shake/meal. I've never really had a real protein shake before, but I was super pumped when I saw I received the Chai flavor. I love Chai!!! So I prepared this in Sean's protein shake ..shaker... with the whisk-like ball in it. Despite the weird aftertaste that I've heard is usually associated with protein shakes, this wasn't bad. The flavor was really good and after I drank it, I did feel full and satisfied for a good few hours. I may order this in a full size. The vegan aspect didn't appeal nor repel me in any way.

HUMMUS. Always good. Brought this to school instead of eating junk and yum. Hummus is just heaven.

Green coffee bean is one of the 'it' things right now, which I do have a bottle of it from Target hiding somewhere in my closet. I did feel these little buggers [1 taken each day, so 2 days worth] gave me a little boost in the morning when I woke up. I should have tried both in the same day, but I always worry with caffeinated pills like this as I used to try that QuickTrim crap the Kardashians endorsed for like a year and those gave me the shakes and [pretty much] insomnia.

I feel like as I wrote this, it's a pretty neutral or even not so good review, but really I was impressed with my first box and I can't wait to see what June's box has inside!
