The palette is huge and contains 24 shadows, supposedly only some are new but I'm not too sure on that.. they all look pretty new to me. The names are on the back as well as a plastic cover that folds over but it annoyed me so I carefully cut it off. These eyeshadows are gorgeous, although one seems like a dupe of at least 2 of her other shadows with different names, but that's a whole other post that I'm cooking up.
The illustrations and text in the palette suggest these are for layering. While swatching on my hand, the formulas of these were a little disappointing, and the layering was just not working... BUT when I used these for realsies, they were beautiful. There are two vertical rows of eyeshadow couples. This post is about the first four couples in the left row... or column. Whatever. They seem like odd combinations on a few, but I have faith in what she's going after. I do, however, wish the colors were set up with light shades on the left and dark on the right. That's just personal for me but again, whatever. haha
When applying these, I used Kat von D's eye primer in Skin and used base cream eyeshadows in similar colors, like black, white, and nude/pink.
First is Dark Throne and Precious.
Natural light... Precious is a lot more pinkish than this
I thought this was a pretty combination!
Next is Sunset Blvd and 8 Bit.... an odd combination for me, but I really really was impressed with it. Layering them really changed the way they looked... almost like getting 3 shadows in 2.
natural light, 8 Bit is bluer, more teal... like Princess Jasmine's clothes.
Third is Holy Bible and Oddfellow. Oddfellow had some fallout because of how much glitter it has, but it's still pretty.. I thought this combo would be frosty as hell and that I'd hate it. Haha, definitely not the case... yup, I loved it.
natural light.. along with the last combo. Holy Bible is bluer and the light shade on the right pair, Instaglam is pink/almost lilac in my eyes.
natural light... with my uber blonde brows!
Lastly, is Instaglam and Stupid Autocorrect. I LOVE these sort of colors on my eyes. I really think they make my eye color pop. The swatch is with the above pair.
Hope you liked this post.. I have 2 more parts coming!
